The person behind the care
Hi, I'm Pamela.
I'm a lifelong dog person, a television producer, and now the founder of Already Obsessed.
Throughout my career I've built my reputation on organization, communication, solving problems under pressure, and managing countless moving pieces without letting details slip.
Those same skills are exactly why I created this business.
My story
When my soul dog Bowie developed congestive heart failure, kidney disease, and other complex medical issues, caring for her became a full-time labor of love.
She took six medications four times a day.
Every medication mattered.
Every symptom mattered.
Every tiny change mattered.
I remember wishing there was someone I trusted enough to help.
Someone who wouldn't simply "watch my dog."
Someone who would notice the little things.
Someone who would communicate constantly.
Someone who understood how overwhelming specialty care can be.
Years earlier, my pug became paralyzed. I learned how to express her bladder several times a day, clean and change bedding, monitor her comfort, and adapt every part of our routine around her needs.
Those experiences completely changed the way I think about dog care.
Already Obsessed exists because I wanted to become the person I desperately wished I'd had during those moments.

A breed I know by heart
Dachshunds are a uniquely specialized breed, and their small size can disguise just how much breed-specific knowledge and care they require. With more than 10 years of experience living with a dachshund, regular experience fostering and volunteering with Los Angeles Dachshund Rescue, and extensive hands-on experience caring for dachshunds with a wide range of personalities and needs, I have developed a deep understanding of the breed.
I am highly familiar with their characteristic independence, intelligence, determination, strong prey drive, scent-driven hunting instincts, vocal nature, territorial behavior, leash reactivity, tendency to chase squirrels, birds and other animals, sensitivity to unfamiliar people or dogs, intense attachment to their people, separation-related behaviors, and their famously stubborn approach to house training. I also understand that every dachshund is an individual and that these traits can vary considerably from dog to dog. My approach is patient, consistent, observant, and tailored to each dog's personality, routines, triggers, and comfort level.
My home and caregiving approach are particularly well suited to dachshunds. I take their long backs and short legs seriously and structure their environment around safe movement and minimizing unnecessary jumping, stair use, and other activities that can place additional strain on the spine. I am attentive to mobility, weight management, exercise needs, enrichment, and appropriate rest, and I can accommodate ramps, medications, special feeding routines, and other individualized care instructions.
I understand the balance dachshunds need between physical activity and mental stimulation, including their instinct to dig, investigate, follow scents, hunt, burrow, and patrol their surroundings. Most importantly, I understand the breed's enormous personalities: the barking, the determination, the dramatic opinions, the cuddling, the stubbornness, and the uncanny ability to believe that a 12-pound dog is fully qualified to protect the entire neighborhood.
Dachshunds aren't simply small dogs; they are a highly distinctive breed, and I provide care specifically tailored to what makes them unique.

1.5 hours of play, exercise and fun at the park.
Full days in my cozy home — gentle socializing with other pups, walks and outings throughout the day, plus plenty of rest in between.
Overnight care in a cozy, loving environment.
Overnight in your home, so your dog stays happy in their own space.
For dogs recovering from surgery or requiring complex medication schedules, mobility assistance, or enhanced observation.
30 minutes of medication administration, monitoring and comfort checks.
Medical and recovery care is individually quoted depending on the complexity of the care plan.
